giftraps: Throwback Thursday - Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor (2006) Without a doubt, one of the greatest debut albums of all time. It was nominated for 4 Grammy’s, but only winning one for best urban/alternative performance for “Daydreamin” featuring Jill Scott. This record also includes my personal favorite Lupe song “Hurt Me Soul”, which just gets better with every listen. A very unique album as well, some might say. Discussing topics such as poverty, Islam, terrorism, racism and individuality. No hip-hop collection is complete without this record here. It was also just announced that Lupe will be releasing a sequel to this album entitled “Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1” on September 25, 2012. Better late than never, right?
